There is a golf driving range and 9 hole golf course at Maesmawr(next door), and another course just down the road at Llanidloes.
Fishing is available on the famous Severn River no further than a mile from the park, The Clywedog Resevoir and various local course fishing pools with carp to over 30lb, which are situated no longer than 5 minute drive from the park. Fantastic trout fishing on the beautiful Clywedog Reservoir only a 10 minute journey from the park.
Mid Wales Shooting Centre has established itself as one of the premier clay target facilities in the UK. Situated in 300 acres of some of the finest and naturally beautiful countryside the British Isles has to offer, it is ideally located. Mid Wales Shooting Centre caters for the novice to the expert shooter, providing a vast range of shooting facilities.
Dams and Resevoirs in Mid Wales
There are a range of picturesque locations within easy reach such as Clywedog Dam, the famous Elan Valley Dams and Lake Vyrnwy.
Red Kite Feeding Centre – Gigrin Farm
We are a 200 acre family-run working farm, now famous for our Red Kite Feeding Centre. Hundreds of Red Kites feed here every day. It is a truly breathtaking spectacle which we hope you will come along and witness for yourself..
The Medieval castle rises dramatically above the celebrated gardens, located in Welshpool and makes an excellent family day out.
Great Little Trains of Wales
The Great Little Trains of Wales are a very special way of seeing some of the best scenery in the British Isles. All are narrow gauge steam railways and some have a history spanning well over 100 years. All of them have in common the charm of old-time steam trains with plenty of polished paintwork and brass.
Locally (Newtown, Llanidloes, Machynlleth and Welshpool) there are several Leisure Centres with swimming pools, gym, dance classes something to help all the family stay fit or just relax in the pool.
There are street markets are at Newtown on Tuesday and at Machynlleth Wednesday.
King Arthurs Labyrinth and Corris Crafts Center
Found deep beneath the mountains of Southern Snowdonia, this mysterious attraction is one of the best days out and right on the border of mid Wales and north Wales. Join a mysterious hooded boatman and sail by underground boat through a magical waterfall - your gateway to the Dark Ages and a time of myth, magic, dragons, giants and King Arthur.
